Hi everyone! In this blog we will be writing about the matches that took place on July 12th. The two games that took place were the Washington Spirit v Houston Dash and the Chicago Red Stars v Utah Royals FC. Let's get started!
Washington Spirit v Houston Dash
This was a pretty fun game to watch. Sixteen minutes into the game Bayley Feist received the ball just outside the box. She shot the ball right into the bottom left corner of the goal! The Washington Spirit was already up 1-0! Both teams had some really good shots and saves for the rest of the game but neither team was able to score again. The final score ended up being Washington Spirit 1 Houston Dash 0.
Chicago Red Stars v Utah Royals FC
This game almost went full time without scoring, but that didn't happen. Both teams took a couple of shots but it was a pretty even game. Then in the eighty-fifth minute Savannah McCaskill played a beautiful cross into the 18-yard box where Casey Short headed the ball into the goal near post! Chicago held out and won the game 1-0 against Utah.
