Hi everyone! In this blog we will be talking about the two games that took place on July 4th, Utah Royals FC v Sky Blue FC and the Houston Dash v OL Reign. Let's get started!
Utah Royals FC v Sky Blue FC
In the first half both teams were creating scoring opportunity but neither team was able to score. A few minutes before half time, Amy Rodriguez scored! She received a beautiful through ball and shot the ball into the right side of the goal! In the second half neither team was able to score again, but there were some pretty nice shots. The final score ended up being Utah 1 Sky Blue 0.
Houston Dash v OL Reign
This was a pretty fun game to watch. Only twelve minutes in, Kristie Mewis ran onto the ball and shot the ball into the bottom right corner! Both teams had some pretty good chances throughout the rest of the first half but neither team was able to score. Then in the second half Shea Groom scored in the fifty fourth minute! She leaped into the air and headed the ball into the bottom right corner! Neither team was able to score for the rest of the half. The final score ended up being Houston 2 OL Reign 1.
