In case you haven't heard, Jill Ellis spoke out about the size of the goals and fields the Women play on compared to the Men.
At the Laureus World Sports Awards on Monday the former English men's manager Fabio
Capello said he had been watching the 2019 Women's World Cup but had "one question" about it. Later on, he went on to say that the fields that the Women play on should be smaller and that the goals should be smaller! He said the goal size makes it harder for the goalkeeper!
Thankfully the former USWNT coach Jill Ellis got in the action and started speaking up. Jill Ellis responded by saying: "I respectfully disagree". She went on to say: "You've got to understand that the men's game has been around for over 100 years. We're seeing taller athletes go into women's soccer. The purity of the game is the purity of the game and we all love it."
She also stated: "I don't think we need to modify things because we have now got 6ft goalkeepers out there and over time the level of athleticism will continue to evolve"
