May 15 - May 23 NWSL Games

Hello everyone! We hope your week is going well! The NWSL season is in full swing which means there are a lot of games to catch up on! Let's get started!

Racing Louisville FC v Kansas City

This game was very back and forth and both teams took lots of shots but the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

NJ/NY Gotham FC v Houston Dash FC

This was a pretty evenly matched game. There were a lot of shots but neither team was able to score until the 30th minute when Margaret Purce scored a beautiful goal into the bottom left corner! Gotham was on the board! There were some other pretty good shots but neither team was able to score. The final score was NJ/NY Gotham FC 1, Houston Dash FC 0.

OL Reign v North Carolina Courage

It was kind of unbelievable how often the ball hit off the post and cross bar. Both teams took so many shots that it was kind of shocking the game ended in a 0-0 tie.

Orlando Pride v Washington Spirit

I would defiantly say that Washington was on defense for a majority of the game, even though they were the first to score. In the 76th minute after getting the ball crossed in, Ashley Hatch headed the ball across the net into the left side of the goal! Orlando Pride wasn't going to give up though! 9 minutes later in the 84th minute, after receiving a long ball Alex Morgan was able to chip Washingtons goalkeeper and score the equalizer for Orlando! After 4 minutes of over time the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

Portland Thorns FC v Chicago Red Stars

This was an interesting game. In the 4th minute Tierna Davidson scored an own goal putting Portland up early. Then in the 13th minute Christine Sinclair scored a beautiful penalty kick into the bottom left corner. Only three minutes later in the 16th minute Sofia Smith scored a beautiful goal! In the 30th minute Sofia Smith received a beautiful through ball and slotted the ball into the bottom left corner of the net! Portland was now up 4-0. Then in the 72nd minute Tyler Lussi capitalized on a rebound and scored! Neither team was able to score again. The final score was Portland Thorns FC 5, Chicago Red Stars 0.

Racing Louisville FC v Washington Spirit

This game was pretty back and fourth and took a little while to get started but once Louisville Started they didn't stop. In the 75th minute after a bad clear by the Spirit, Emina Ekic got the ball, dribbled into the box and shoot the ball into the left side of the goal. It was a pretty amazing goal! Only 6 minutes later in the 81st minute of the game, after getting the cross in Cece Kizer took the left footed shot putting the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal! The game ended in a 2-0 win for Racing Louisville!
