North Carolina vs Orlando Pride
May 18th, 2022
Sydney Leroux got this game going really fast for Orlando! In only the 4th minute, Leroux got Orlando on the board. After a bad clearance by North Carolina, another Orlando player took a shot. North Carolina's goalkeeper was able to make the original save but Leroux was there to follow it up and pass it in the back of the net! Orlando had gained the early lead! 40 minutes later, Orland got another. In the 44th minute, after the ball was saved at the endline the crossed to the middle of the box, Mikayla Cluff, with no man on her was able to pass the ball far post and make the score 2-0! Brianna Pinto was able to score for North Carolina in the 86th minute, but it wasn’t enough to get North Carolina back in the game. The final score of the game was 2-1 with Orlando taking home the 3 points.
Racing Louisville FC vs San Diego Wave FC
May 18th, 2022
This game had one goal determine who won, and it happened pretty early on in the game. In the 27th minute, after a foul outside of the box, Racing Louisville got a prime opportunity; and they took it. Savannah DeMelo and Jaelin Howell both lined up to take if for Louisville. Howell ran over it and DeMelo took the shot. DeMelo was able to curve the ball past the wall and into the right upper 90 of the net! It was a pretty good goal to decide who would win the game! The game ended with Racing Louisville taking the 1-0 win.
Portland Thorns FC vs Washington Spirit
May 18, 2022
The goals scored in this game were all pretty close together. The first goal came late in the game for Portland. In the 57th minute, Sophia Smith was able to perfectly place her shot from the side of the field, past Washington's goalkeeper, and just inside the near post of the goal! Sophia Smith really is a world class player! The Washington Spirit didn’t stay down for long though; in the 63rd minute they tied up the game. After getting a cross in, Ashley Hatch was able to get in front of the Thorns goalkeeper and head the ball into the net! The game was all tied up! Both teams took a lot more shots, and both goalkeepers made a lot more saves, but no one was able to score again. The game ended in a 1-1 tie.

The Thorns had a quick turnaround and played Houston only 3 days after playing the Spirit. Portland took a lot of shots, but the first goal came for Houston in the 45+3 minute of the game. Houston had taken the lead going into the half. Houston then scored again in the 66th minute. After doing a give and go with another Houston player, Sophie Schmidt dribbled the ball just to the outside of the 6 yard box, then shot the ball near post and past Portland's goalkeeper! Houston had a 2-0 lead! Portland took shots, but none of them were scored; ending the game with a score of 2-0 and Houston taking home the victory.
Angel City FC vs Kansas City Current
May 21, 2022
This game was determined by one goal, and unfortunately, it was an own goal. Both teams took a lot of shots, but the goalkeepers were on point and making some pretty amazing saves. Unfortunately for Kansas City, in the 70th minute, Angel City got a goal from a Kansas City player. Taylor Leach for Kansas City was on the line to clear the ball, but her feet got tangled and she accidentally taped the ball into the back of the net. Kansas City was unable to score, leaving the game decided by an own goal. Angel City won 1-0.
