Hi everyone! Welcome back to the blog! We would like to make a big apology for the long delay of blog posts, with high school starting up for us, things have gotten very busy. A lot has happened since we last wrote but one of the most recent things has been all of the trades that have gone on in the NWSL.
There have been a lot of big trades made before the final trading day which was December 3rd. The teams trading the most were Angel City FC and San Diego Wave FC. These to teams are both new two the NWSL after being expansion teams.
November 22- The first big trade that got the ball rolling was when Abby Dahlkemper went to San Diego Wave FC from Houston Dash
November 30- Sam Mewis went from North Carolina Courage to KC Current (Kansas City renamed), the year-old team.
December 1st-San Diego gained Tegan McGrady from the Washington Spirit and Jodie Taylor, an English National team player, who was traded from the Orlando Pride.
December 2nd- Chicago Red Stars trade Julie Ertz and Sarah Gorden and an international roster spot in 2022 and 2023 to Angel City FC for full roster protection in the expansion draft.
December 3rd- Gotham FC trades Kailen Sheridan to San Diego FC for full roster protection in the expansion draft and $130,000 in allocation money.
December 5th- Ali Krieger and Ashlyn Harris traded to Gotham FC from the Orlando Pride for future draft picks and $50,000 in allocation money.
December 8th- Gotham FC trades DiDi Haracic to Angel City FC for $50,000 in allocation money and expansion draft roster protection, Portland Thorns FC traded the rights to forward Simone Charley and Tyler Lussi to Angel City FC for LA's natural second-round pick in the NWSL draft, $100,000 in allocation money, and expansion draft protection. North Carolina Courage also traded rights of Cari Roccaro to Angel City FC and Angharad Jame was traded to San Diego FC
December 16th- After being drafted by San Diego FC in the expansion draft, Kristie Mewis is traded from San Diego FC to Gotham FC. Another big trade that happened on the 16th was that Alex Morgan got traded from the Orlando Pride to San Diego FC for allocation money ($275,000) and Angharad Jame (traded to San Diego FC from North Carolina)
