The USWNT has filed a lawsuit for their unequal pay and the trial is going to be held on May 5th.
The previous US soccer president Carlos Cordeiro re-signed after receiving a lot of backlash because of the unequal pay, and the new president is Cindy Parlow Cone. Parlow Cone used to play for the US women's soccer team and won a world cup and an Olympic gold medal. US soccer also got a new federation CEO, Will Wilson.
Parlow Cone said, "That's one of our top priorities right now." "I don't think a trial is good for either party or for soccer, both in this country or internationally."
Parlow Cone said she would like to have this figured out before the trial. She also said that there aren't any meetings scheduled with the players but she hopes there will be one soon.
Hopefully, they will get this resolved before the trial and the Women's team gets the money they deserve.
