If you saw the USWNT game versus Spain then you saw Julie Ertz's amazing goal! That is why she is our player spotlight!
This Arizona native played in her first game on February 9, 2012. She started off playing defense but gradually moved up and started playing center midfield. She has been an asset to the USWNT throughout their games and continuously seems to prove herself.
In the US Women's National Team game versus Spain, Julie Ertz was playing center midfield. She was directing the ball and talking to her teammates, making sure she was helping her team. The game remained scoreless and time was ticking down. Then the USWNT earned a free-kick. Christen Press served the ball into the box and Julie Ertz ran in and used her rocket of a head and put it in the back of the net!
That is why she is our player spotlight! Julie and her husband Zach Ertz (from the Philadelphia Eagles) also have a foundation called the Ertz Family Foundation. The Ertz Family Foundation raises money to support teach kids through sports and building strong communities. To learn more and donate go to the link below!
Make sure you keep watching the USWNT and supporting the team!
