In case you haven't heard the 2020 Summer Olympics that were going to be held in Tokyo, Japan has been postponed until the summer of 2021. We are going to explain a few reasons why this will be good and bad for the US Women National Soccer Team.
Alex Morgan
Now, in case you haven't heard, Alex Morgan is going to have a baby girl! Her due date is sometime in April which was pretty close to the Olympics. So fans were speculating whether she would be able to play. Vlakto Andonovski said that they would try and make sure she would be ready to play with the US for the Olympics but it was still cutting it a little close. So now knowing that the Olympics have been postponed Alex Morgan and all of America will not have to worry about Alex not being ready to play. This also means she will be able to spend time with her new baby instead of worrying about getting ready to play.
Set Back for Players?
So, the Olympics being postponed can be good and bad. We have to wonder how some of the players are feeling about this change. We don't know about you but we were thinking that after the Olympics some of the USWNT players might be thinking about retiring. We know that it's not definite that they would retire but it's possible.
Another reason this could be a set back for the USWNT is scheduling. We're pretty sure that the USWNT was not planning on not having the Olympics in 2020. So now they need to figure out if they are going to play games and if so, against who.
